ACMHA Posts 2015 Summit Presentations
Since 1979, ACMHA: The College for Behavioral Health Leadership has served as one of the nation’s premier think tanks and forums for the “development of leaders and the exchange of innovations that impact the health and wellness of communities and people with mental health and substance use conditions.”
ACMHA has a proven record of demonstrating the vision to pinpoint cutting-edge issues and support the development of innovative strategies to move the field. This is accomplished by connecting a diverse group of behavioral health stakeholders and nurturing their leadership. The organization’s work has yielded numerous achievements, including the Annapolis Coalition on the
Behavioral Health Workforce and the Whole Health Coalition.
ACMHA is particularly well known for its Annual Summit, where folks like me learned about healthcare integration and the social determinants of health many years before they became household words.
Last month, the 2015 ACHMA Summit was focused on Healthcare Activation, in particular examining questions like: What can we learn from the “physical health” community on this topic? What about technology – is it helping or hurting? How can we take a community approach? What does the research tell us? What does it mean to approach this in a culturally competent or at least sensitive manner? What can we learn from the positive psychology movement?
