MCTAC UM Learning Community; Sign Up Now!

In addition to the Revenue Cycle Management learning community that began this week, MCTAC is excited to announce a continuation of the in-person Utilization Management training opportunities with its web-based Utilization Management Learning Community for OMH & OASAS agencies. In order to be considered for participation, interested providers must apply and, if they have not done so already, submit a Readiness Assessment by Friday, May 29th.

The four content areas for the UM Series are:

• Effective Utilization Management Practices Overview
• Developing an Effective Utilization Management Staff 
• Implementing Effective Utilization Management Practices Within Your Organization
• Developing Effective Practices for Supervisors of Utilization Management Staff 

Eligibility Criteria:

• Readiness Assessment Completion
• Executive Sponsorship: to enroll in the UM Learning Community, the Agency CEO (or equivalent Executive Leadership) is expected to both be aware of and recommend/select the appropriate staff/team members to participate in the Learning Community.
• Time Commitment: each team is asked to devote the time and effort required to participate in one 60 minute webinar and three 20 minute webinars followed by Q&A/Discussion (see schedule below)

How to apply:

Step 1: Team Selection

We recommended a composition of:

• Head of QA for the agency
• Head of Programs
• Head of Evaluations for the agency
• Clinical/Medical Director
• UM supervisors (those supervising service providers)
• UM Staff
• Agency front-line staff members who will benefit from an MCO UM overview

Step 2:

Enrollment via submission of application by Friday, May 29th

Schedule: All webinars will take place at 12pm. June 16, 22, and 29, in particular, will have extra time allocated for Q&A and to review questions received by the MCTAC team between webinars.

June 22: UM Implementation

June 29: UM Supervision 

Providers in the Albany region are also encouraged to register for and attend the upcoming training on May 29th covering Revenue Cycle Management, Utilzation Management, and Outcomes.
