NYAPRS Appoints Tanya Stevens as Deputy Director,
Seeks CFO, Policy Director and Managed Care Projects Manager
Fast changing times like these require strong and nimble leadership. In that spirit, I want to announce a number of personnel changes and openings at NYAPRS.
First off, I am very pleased to announce that Tanya Stevens will be assuming the post of NYAPRS Deputy Director. Tanya has served as Director of our Peer Services Division since 2004. Under her leadership, the NYAPRS Peer Bridger model’s proven success within the Medicaid managed care environment has made it a national standard.
Tanya has long played a key role within the agency beyond managing peer services. She brings great expertise, experience and dedication to her new duties, which will include overseeing or informing day to day agency operations, including human resources, program and event management and board, staff, and member services and supports.
Accordingly, Tara Miller was recently hired as Assistant Director for our NYAPRS Peer Services Division, which currently operates 3 peer bridger initiatives and provides state and national technical assistance in the areas of peer services management. Tara brings valuable expertise in supervising Medicaid funded peer services in Pennsylvania, as well as a strong personal dedication to advancing fidelity level peer services.
On behalf of our Board, members and colleagues, I’d also like to express our great thanks to our departing Public Policy and Finance Directors.
Briana Gilmore’s expertise in public policy analysis and advocacy, grassroots organizing and member technical assistance has been of extraordinary value to our agency, membership and broader community. We know that all of you join us in wishing her all the very best in her new duties in business and program development and oversight at Community Access, a leading NYC-based NYAPRS member agency. We look forward to future collaborations with Briana in her new role.
Mark Denley has provided strong and steady oversight of our financial operations and department, all the while demonstrating great effort, integrity and dedication to our agency, our Board and our team. He has done a stellar job on our behalf and moves on at a time that allows NYAPRS to search for a Chief Fiscal Officer who has Medicaid experience to better assist with the upcoming transition to Medicaid billing.
NYAPRS is also continuing to expand and diversify our efforts to advance our mission of promoting the recovery, rehabilitation, rights and full community integration of people with psychiatric disabilities.
Towards those ends, we are also seeking to fill the new position of Managed Care Projects Manager, who will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing projects that assist community based behavioral healthcare agencies in their transition to Managed Care.
You can find all three job descriptions at http://www.nyaprs.org/contact-us/jobs.cfm. We are seeking to fill all 3 posts by late August to early September.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our agency and its great mission.
Harvey
