NYAPRS Note: The following comes from National Alliance to End Homelessness
National Alliance to End Homelessness, by way of the National Coalition for Mental Health Recovery.
The National Alliance to End Homelessness and a growing host of national and state organizations have drafted the attached letter urging Congress to spare critical SAMHSA homeless programs from harmful funding cuts, particularly the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) program.
These programs are an important part of the network of services for homeless persons with serious mental health conditions. Currently the House is proposing a 15 percent cut to PATH and the Senate is proposing a 38 percent cut. More information is available at http://www.endhomelessness.org/pages/samhsa.
NYAPRS will be signing onto the attached letter and urges other statewide organizations from across the nation to do the same.
