Mental Health Empowerment Project Program Manager – Westchester County
Position summary
The Mental Health Empowerment Project, Inc. (MHEP) is a not-for-profit agency organized in 1988 to develop and strengthen self-help and mutual support activities throughout The United States. This position is responsible for the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of MHEP’s direct peer support programs in Westchester County.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties of this position include: Direct, plan and coordinate the work of the staff including supervision and evaluation, training and team building; Accomplishes strategic and operational objectives; Responsible for the direct oversight of the documentation requirements; Report on performance goals as directed by the strategic plan; Work with program director to develop annual reports; Forms a strong collaboration with the partner organizations; Organizes orientation sessions that outline goals, procedures and current events for new program staff; Oversees and contributes to program evaluation efforts; Monitor outreach and engagement efforts and community organizing activities; Participate in systems advocacy efforts related to rights protection and protecting the integrity of peer support;
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated experience related to the principles of community organizing, Intentional Peer Support, Strength-based Supervision and Trauma Informed Practices. Additional requirements of this position include computer literacy, excellent written and oral communication skills, experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously and organizing workload to manage multiple deadlines. This person will also have a clean, valid NYS drivers’ license, a personal vehicle.

The Bridge Peer Educator/Wellness Coach
The Peer Educator/Wellness Coach will deliver individual and group services designed to help clients improve their physical and emotional health and well-being. She/he will assist in the recruitment of participants, participate in training and weekly supervision meetings, and participate in program planning and development.
The position can either be full-time or part-time. We will consider people who are interested in either option. It will be primarily based in our upper-Westside outpatient treatment hub, but may involve travel to some of our residential sites in Manhattan and the Bronx.
Candidates should have a High School diploma/GED, completed a peer specialist training program and have lived experience with the behavioral health system.
This is a 3 year grant funded position. The salary is $30,000 for full-time and comes with agency benefits.
