Can Nonprofits Survive and Succeed? Sesso to Head up CEO Panel at April 21-22 NYAPRS Executive Seminar

March 29, 2016 by Chris Liu-Beers

NYAPRS Note: This morning’s Crain’s Health Pulse featured a piece about a series of attached interviews about “mergers, acquisitions and absorptions” conducted by prominent consultant Arthur Webb of two leading nonprofit CEOs, including Donna Colonna, CEO of NYAPRS member Services for the Underserved (SUS) in New York City. The interviews are presented in an environment where 20% of our very ‘vulnerable sector’ is operating in the red.Donna will join a panel of respected community mental health agency leads (see below) at NYAPRS’ upcoming April 21-22 Annual Albany Executive Seminar that will look at if and how nonprofits can best survive and succeed in the current environment that will feature opening remarks by Allison Sesso, CEO of the group that commissioned a widely read “New York Nonprofits in the Aftermath of FEGS: A Call to Action.”

This closing session will offer a very candid ‘rubber meets the road” discussion with panelists and attendees around the challenges that community behavioral
health nonprofits face, especially as we move more deeply into the Medicaid Managed Care and Value based payment environments. The conversation will be informed by the findings from a recently released “Call to Action” report by the Human Services Coalition that looks at rate, workforce, payment, regulatory and mandate related issues, as well as the management and risk assessment responsibilities of nonprofit leaders.
