September 14-16, 2016
Hudson Valley Resort & Conference Center
Kerhonkson, NY
NYAPRS is very pleased to welcome proposals for our 34th Annual Conference, entitled “Advancing Whole Health & Healthy Communities: The Pathway to Population Health” to be held from September 14-16 at the Hudson Valley Resort & Conference Center in Kerhonkson, with overflow lodging at the Honors Haven Resort in nearby Ellenville.
As you hopefully know, the NYAPRS Annual Conference has become widely regarded as one of the nation’s finest training opportunities and a unique celebration of advances in personal and professional strategies and public policies that advance the recovery, rehabilitation, rights and full community inclusion of people with psychiatric disabilities and/or diagnoses.
For over 3 decades, NYAPRS has provided timely information, energizing inspiration and critically valued networking opportunities in a celebratory atmosphere and retreat-like environment nestled within the Catskill Mountains.
Per our theme, this year’s conference recognizes that in order to help New Yorkers with a variety of mental health, addiction and medically related conditions to advance their recoveries and resilience, we must offer a whole health approach that addresses all of the domains of wellness.
And, since recovery and wellness don’t happen in a vacuum, we must improve the health and resilience of the communities in which they live, addressing a variety of potential barriers related to housing, poverty, discrimination, exclusion, isolation and health disparities.
This year’s program will feature some of the nation’s and state’s most inspiring and compelling speakers in these areas, most notably:
