Ron Coleman
Karen Taylor
There are few people who provide training in the way Ron and Karen do. This is why they have an international reputation, not only as trainers, but also as speakers
and authors of high quality innovative thinking and practice.
This workshop will help us to better understand the voice hearing experience, listen to the narrative and unravel the meaning. The presenters will explore how we
can all help voice hearers to not feel stigmatized and discriminated against in our communities and to live full lives. Participants will explore how the impact of voice hearing effects not only the person but the family and community around them and how this
can become a more positive experience for everyone.
Ron has served as national coordinator of the ‘Hearing Voices Network’ in England. His own route to recovery after spending 13 years in and out of the psychiatric
system has given him many insights into the numerous difficult issues facing today’s mental health services.
Karen is an RMN with 16 years of experience supporting both older people and adults of working age. She has personal experience of designing, implementing and managing
innovative community care services, including a psychosis resolution service based on Recovery.
Ron and Karen also produce training that directly impacts on how clinicians interact and work with people who have psychotic experiences.
Come join their presentation on “Hearing Voices- A Community Approach to Hearing Voices and Other Unusual Experiences.”
