New York’s DSRIP (Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment program) is the strategy NY is using to “fundamentally restructure the health care delivery system by reinvesting in the Medicaid program, with the primary goal of reducing avoidable hospital use by 25% over 5 years.”
Up to $6.42 billion dollars are allocated to this program with payouts based upon achieving predefined results in system transformation, clinical management and population health
25 Performing Provider Systems (PPS) have been identified as partnerships of regional care providers who will collaborate to “better transition from traditional fee-for-service payment for their services to the new, risk-based, pay-for-performance approach.”
See more about them at http://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/medicaid/redesign/dsrip/pps_map/index.htm.
As part of the DSRIP program requirements, the Project Approval and Oversight Panel meets today to discuss overall program oversight and DSRIP project progress.
