Join us on October 14 for a day of lively conversation, and another stellar lineup of films. Including:Touched With Fire(starring Katie Holmes and produced by Spike Lee), the film debut of writer/director Paul Dalio, who drew inspiration from his own experience of bipolar disorder to tell a bittersweet love story;The Wrong Bodega, a film about a young man of color who needs to choose between leaving his friends to go to college or other means to get money for his struggling family; Crazy, the urgent true story of a young man and his family fighting a court-order to take medication, andHealing Voices, a documentary that challenges us to reconsider how we think about mental health, at the frontline of a critical human rights issue, The Other Side of Hero, a documentary on stress and mental health concerns among first responders.
Presented by Community Access, #MHFF is the oldest and largest mental health film festival in the United States. The festival takes a bold stand in fighting the stigma that people with mental illness often face, by building a community through film and promoting social justice.
