Vicarious Resilience follows three Hudson Valley residents–Morris Bassik, Barbara Stemke and Hayley Downs–over the course of a 10-week TMI Project storytelling workshop with the Mental Health Association of Ulster County (MHA). Along the way, the participants experience the transformative power of true storytelling; they face mental illness, childhood neglect and addiction head-on; and, ultimately, share deeply personal stories about love, loss and triumph.
In addition to the film screening, two courageous teenagers will read their stories from our recent performance, 13 Reasons Why NOT. There will also be a post-show panel discussion about storytelling and mental health, led by TMI Project workshop leader Rebecca Wong, LCSW-R and founder of Connectfulness.
