Trauma takes many forms. It is a complex subject, but it is simply too real to the young women involved for us to not address them head on. Trauma lives in both the body and the mind, and recovery must be both multifaceted and individualized. This conference, with its emphasis on the effects of trauma on girls and young women, will highlight the importance of resiliency in overcoming these challenges. Attendees will leave with tools and best practices to help at risk girls and young women triumph.
To triumph over one’s history of trauma involves accessing personal strengths, learning coping skills, utilizing natural and professional supports and ultimately reclaiming one’s life and making choices that allow for recovery.
