NYAPRS Note: Recent media coverage underscored the acute need for appropriate and adequate supports to assist current NYC adult home residents with extensive mental health conditions to successfully transition into supported housing settings. Last session, NYAPRS successfully helped win a $5 million allocation for the hiring of upwards of 60 peer bridgers to work with as many as 2,000 residents over the coming years. NYAPRS member agencies Community Access and Baltic Street AEH have been awarded the contracts and are looking to quickly hire and deploy the bridgers ASAP.
