NYAPRS Note: With talk of possible Medicaid cuts and the dire need to address the crisis in funding for community human service nonprofits via the 3-for-5 campaign to win a 3% across the board hike for each of the next 5 years, to push for more funding for community mental health housing, to see passage of HALT legislation to limit if not ban the use of solitary confinement, fix not force services and make NYS a leader in trauma informed care, make your preparations now to get on the bus and to schedule afternoon meetings with your state legislators in Albany this February 25th at the NYS Capital.
This will doubtlessly be one of the most important advocacy days in many years…..we must protect our services and our rights while improving care across the spectrum!
We are once again looking to set up buses to come from Western NY, the North Country, Central New York, the Hudson Valley, Southern Tier, Westchester/Putnam, New York City and Long Island and will be providing contact information for our regional bus captains in the next week or so.
