The New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB), a project of the Mental Health Empowerment Project (MHEP), has an immediate opening for a full-time Director of the New York Peer Specialist Certification Board contract. Job Description:
The Director is responsible for overseeing the NYPSCB Contract; giving direction to the NYPSCB in the implementation of the New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) certification program and performing duties necessary for the NYPSCB’s office to effectively and efficiently conduct its business. This position provides oversight of the data entry, logistical support, and data management as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience managing a team
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills including MS Office and data base management
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Experience with educational accreditation or certification preferred
• Experience in the field of peer support services preferred
• Candidates who are currently certified or eligible for certification preferred

The New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (NYAPRS) is looking to fill a FT Peer Bridger position in Far Rockaway, NY. NYAPRS is a recognized leader in the field of peer to peer mental health supports and creator of the nationally acclaimed peer bridger model that has assisted thousands to successfully transition from long term or frequent use of hospital and emergency services to their communities.
Peer bridgers engage and support individuals with significant mental health, substance use, medical and social needs in trust-based and mutually accountable relationships that foster hope, purpose, improved health and satisfying and successful lives in communities of choice. They offer both individualized support and help facilitate regular peer support groups in both the institutions and the community.
All applicants must have lived experience with the recovery process and behavioral health service systems, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, experience in leading support groups, facility with computers and Microsoft Suite products, very good documentation and time management skills and a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and the ability to travel. Peer Bridgers must have a GED or High School diploma.
