NYAPRS Note: The following comes from MHANYS’ Glenn Liebman. The 3for5 proposal, amounting to a 3% increase in across the board funding for NY’s human services nonprofits for the next 5 years, is coming to the forefront in a successive series of Albany events sponsored by our colleagues and will be a key priority for NYAPRS’ February 25th Legislative Day.
The Statewide Human Service Advocates continue the drumbeat for the three percent increase in funding for the Human Services Sector every year for the next five years (#3for5).
Today our colleages at Assocation for Community Living (ACL) are holding their Legislative Day with over 150 meetings, highlighting #3for5. Tomorrow The ARC NY and the NY Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation are holding a rally in support for #3for5. Wednesday, Strong Non Profits is planning Legislative Meetings highlighting #3for5. Last week, the Coalition for Community Behavioral Health Care, the New York State Coalition for Children’s Behavioral Health and the Coalition for Behavioral Health all held legislative and executive meetings identifying #3for5 as a top priority.
Why we are all speaking with one voice is because we are witnessing a crisis in human services that deeply impacts our loved ones, our community and New York’s taxpayers. That is why we need your support
