Take Charge of Your Organization’s Culture!

We have all experienced cultural tension in our organizations. Those occur from changes in leadership or market pressures. We are faced with tension in financial downturn and also when the organization is expanding and growing. Pressures on organization culture can be painful for everyone involved and even lead to attrition or coup d’état. In some situations, the organization culture doesn’t adjust to support the shifting environment, and the organization is forced to close. In my work, I adopt the Competing Values Framework that is used in Fortune 500 companies and has great application to health and human services. I’ve spent the past 15 years working with organizations experiencing the transitions of value-base reimbursement, accreditation, service line development, mergers and integration, addressing compliance gaps, and developing world-class quality, while helping organizations assess and change their organization culture to support, rather than hinder, these initiatives.
