Social Media Toolkit for #NoMedicaidCuts Twitterstorm 3/30
Twitter: @NYHCampaign • Instagram: @campaign4nyhealth • Facebook: @CampaignforNewYorkHealth
Goals: We are fighting to save Medicaid from deep cuts during this budget cycle in Albany. With the pandemic spreading, Governor Cuomo is considering a devastating $2.5 billion in cuts to Medicaid. These cuts will blow holes in our safety net just when we need it most.
Twitterstorm Instructions: Please tweet today about why Medicaid is so important, especially during #COVID-19, and why we must reject all Medicaid cuts and guarantee healthcare for all New Yorkers.
And please join in retweeting others posting about #ProtectMedicaid #NoMedicaidCuts.
In your tweets, please 1) use the hashtags #ProtectMedicaid and #NoMedicaidCuts and 2) tag @NYHCampaign – it’ll help us find your tweets and retweet you during the twitterstorm.
Use these hashtags #NoMedicaidCuts and #ProtectMedicaid to share our stories and show exactly why during a pandemic is the worst time to cut Medicaid.
Messaging: Even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Cuomo is still trying to cut $2.5 billion to Medicaid programs that serve people of color and low income New Yorkers. He should be boosting funding for our collective public health, not cutting services to our most vulnerable communities.
