NYAPRS Note: Don’t miss next Thursday’s very timely information packed webinar: COVID-19 and Public Benefits: A Look at the Facts. See below for details!
The COVID-19 emergency has created a bit of chaos for those relying on public benefits. Offices are closed, phone lines are clogged and things are NOT business as usual.
Stimulus payments, dependent payments, $600 weekly federal unemployment insurance bumps and the impact on public benefits bring good news, bad news and leaves questions about how each federal agency and the benefits it administers will impact families and individuals who rely on public benefits.
While the federal agency interpretation of the CARES Act seem to be settling down, the agencies have taken different positions and have changed positions almost daily.
Join us as we provide an update on what we know about COVID-19 and the impact it has on people receiving benefits.
