NYLPI Releases Election 2020 Guide Addressing New Yorkers’ Voting Rights — and How to Counter Voter Intimidation and Combat Voter Suppression — https://nylpi.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/NYLPI-2020-Voter-Rights-Guide-for-New-Yorkers.pdf.
New York Lawyers for the Public Interest is proud to offer a voting rights guide for New Yorkers to raise our voices and make change in the 2020 General Election:
- We explain details of absentee (mail-in) voting, early voting, and Election Day voting options.
- Our guide promotes voting rights for all New Yorkers, including the rights of voters with disabilities, voters who are homeless, voters who experience domestic violence, and other voters.
- We discuss the problem of voter intimidation, and include information about how to address it.
- We also describe typical voter suppression tactics, including racist efforts to undermine the voting rights of people of color — and in particular Black Americans.
Throughout the guide and in its conclusion, we provide voting rights resources for New Yorkers.
