NYAPRS seeks a mission-driven, experienced leader for a new role in shaping and implementing the organization’s ongoing expansion of services.
Director of Programs and Strategic Initiatives
The Director of Programs and Strategic Initiatives is a new member of our Senior Management Team who oversees the efforts of NYAPRS Division and program directors in the following areas:

Transformational Training programs that help behavioral health agencies, administrators, and the workforce to transform their practices in the promotion of recovery-oriented services for people with behavioral health challenges.

Technical Assistance programs to support state and local government and systems to introduce and integrate cutting-edge solutions to foster public and behavioral health and reduce repeat patterns of emergency, inpatient, and criminal justice involvement.

Supporting the development of customized Peer-to-Peer Transitional Support and Navigator Innovations that help people to successfully transition from hospitals, adult homes, and forensic facilities to lives focused on dignity, hope, and recovery, based on our internationally acclaimed and much replicated NYAPRS Peer Bridger™ Model.
Qualifications
· A passion for advancing the recovery, rehabilitation, self-determination, rights and community inclusion of people with mental health, addiction and trauma related challenges
· Program leadership and management experience and expertise in the development and oversight of an array of multiple initiatives and new projects
· Expertise in recruiting, managing, and developing a strong outcome focused team of program administrators and program staff
· Superior written and verbal communication skills
· Expertise and experience in fostering effective collaborations with internal and external partners and funders.
· Strong fiscal management and demonstrated fundraising experience
· Experience in fostering a healthy inspired culture that promotes diversity and equity
· Advanced degree, with at least 5 years of management experience
· Lived experience with recovery and public and behavioral health services and supports
Excellent salary and benefits package based in Albany, NY.
This is a full-time, 12-month position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Evening work may be required as job duties demand. Overnight travel is required at times.
