The Alliance for Rights and Recovery, formerly NYAPRS, is pleased to announce the program for the 14th Annual Recovery & Rehabilitation Academy. This year’s conference, “Empowering Lives: Cultivating Change, Connection and Collaboration” will be held on November 8-9 in Albany at The Crowne Plaza (formerly The Desmond Hotel). This year’s Academy Conference features keynote speaker, two-time TED talk presenter, David Woods Bartley. David’s remarkable journey, supported by many and fueled by the realization of the importance of self-care, serves as an inspiration to all. He has transitioned from the depths of mental “hellness” to embrace the inclusive space of mental wellness. David’s personal experience, where his live was saved, has motivated him to champion essential yet challenging conversations. He is determined to move discussion about mental illness from the shadows of silence to the forefront of public awareness.
