18th Annual NYC Conference for Working Peer Specialists
Thursday, July 25
The New York City Peer Specialist Conference Planning Committee is currently seeking workshop proposals for the 18th Annual NYC Conference for Working Peer Specialists, which will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024. This year’s conference theme is “Sharing the Torch: Uniting Peer Support Services Across Generations”.
This conference is held specifically for New York City Peer Specialists working in mental health and substance use settings, including programs and initiatives engaging family, youth, and justice impacted populations. If you are a peer specialist looking to enhance your skills and knowledge of peer support values and current best practices, this conference will stimulate a critical dialogue addressing: career development; trends in health care that impact engagement; supervision and training; wellness, self-care and holistic practice; and the arts. We invite structured workshop proposals including a description of no more than 150 words, focused learning objectives, presenter bio(s), and equipment needs. Please note that learning objectives should translate to observable approaches and activities used to engage participants while integrating recovery-oriented, person-centered, social-justice, and trauma-informed concepts.
Deadline for submission of workshop proposals is Friday, March 1, 2024.
Please submit workshop proposals by e-mail to:
