Alliance for Rights and Recovery NYS Budget and Legislative Advocacy
The Alliance staff and colleagues have begun actively working on our advocacy efforts for this year’s NYS Budget and legislative sessions. We continue to fight against any expansion of coercive policies like Kendra’s Law and push for a 3.2% COLA and other workforce investments, alternatives to hospitalization, peer run services, and the protection of our rights. We have released our initial breakdown of Governor Hochul’s proposed budget and will send you all a second look update once more information is available. The Alliance will also host a members-only webinar with our lobbyists to outline what is included in the recently approved 1115 Medicaid Demonstration Waiver and discuss how community-based provider organizations can access some of this funding.
We are excited to once again have you all come to Albany for our 27th Annual Legislative Day on March 5th! The Alliance will continue to hold regional forums to further shape our advocacy agenda and give everyone an opportunity to share their concerns before coming to Albany on March 5th. Continue to monitor the Alliance Enews for more updates on this year’s issues legislative news, and ways you can help advocate online and in person. See below for information on upcoming forums and our Legislative Day.
