Alliance Note: The New York State Senate released their One House budget bill late last night. We are very pleased to see they have included two of the Alliance’s top priorities for this year. The Senate included a 3.2% Cost of Living Adjustment for the human services sector as well as $2 Million for Daniel’s Law mental health first responder pilots! We are grateful to legislators in the Senate for hearing our calls to support our workforce and create an appropriate crisis response system. We will continue to analyze the Senate’s bill for other major provisions we have been advocating for.
Thank you to everyone who came to our legislative day last week as well as everyone who has worked with us to advocate for these needed budget priorities. The Alliance will update you on what is included in the NYS Assembly One House bill once we have analyzed this as well. Continue to monitor this email for more updates and ways you can contribute to our advocacy efforts as we push for the inclusion of our priorities, especially a 3.2% COLA, in the final budget negotiated between the Legislature and the Governor’s office.
