Alliance Alert: Founded in 1995, the award-winning Howie the Harp (HTH) Advocacy Center trains individuals with a lived experience in the mental health system for direct service, supervisor, and management roles within Human Services. In addition, they offer an Assisted Competitive Employment (ACE) program for individuals looking to find work, and an Ongoing Integrated Supportive Employment (OISE) program for individuals presently working and seeking ongoing support.
The Center (HTH) is now accepting applications for their December 2024 peer workforce academy. HTH trains people in mental health recovery for careers in the human services sector. The program is FREE and offers support during every step of the job training and job search processes.

Howie the Harp Peer Training Program
The Howie the Harp Advocacy Center (HTH) is now accepting applications for our December 2024 peer workforce academy. Application Deadline: November 1, 2024
Class Dates: December 16, 2024 to May 2, 2025

What is the time commitment of the program?
1. 20-week classroom training: Monday through Thursday: 9:30am to 3:30pm, and half days every Friday
2. 12-week internship, 24 hours per week
3. Employment search and support
Do I qualify for HTH?
Applicants must:
• Have a clinical mental health diagnosis
• Reside in the NYC metropolitan area
• Have at least a high school diploma (or the equivalent)
• Be able to work in the U.S.
