Alliance Alert: The Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health has an opportunity for community members to join a stakeholder group to support the office’s goals of improving the NYC mental health and substance use support systems. This is a great chance to share your thoughts, concerns, and questions about programs and initiatives in NYC. Your participation will help shape the City’s approach and policies. See below for more information.
The Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health (OCMH) is excited to announce the formation of a new Community Stakeholder Group. Established by City Council mandate in December 2021, OCMH is the first permanent mayoral office dedicated to the behavioral health of New Yorkers.
The purpose of the Community Stakeholder Group is to share feedback, insights and information that will support OCMH’s priorities and initiatives to improve the NYC mental health and substance use care system.
OCMH is actively seeking community members with lived experience of mental health and/or substance use, representatives from the workforce, individual advocates, and leaders from behavioral health providers, academia, and faith-based organizations, with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and expertise. Your insights and input would be invaluable to help shape their approach and improve the mental health landscape across the City.
Please review the attached flyer for more details on who would make a great stakeholder group member and how to submit an application by Sunday, December 15, 2024. If selected, OCMH will contact you for an interview by Friday, January 24, 2025. The first Community Stakeholder Group meeting is planned for February 2025. Meetings will take place in the evening from 5-7pm once a quarter virtually and one meeting will be in-person.
