Alliance Alert: While we spend the day celebrating Juneteenth, marking the true end of slavery in the United States, we take time to reflect on the lasting impacts of slavery and its legacy of racism which still affects people of color. This is especially true for the Black community which continues to face barriers, including racial discrimination, to receiving comprehensive, culturally sensitive mental health services and support. Attached are two resources created by the NY State Office of Mental Health which detail the effects of racism on mental health.
