Call for Workshop Proposals
20th Annual NYC Conference for Working Peer Specialists

The Planning Committee for the NYC Conference for Working Peer Specialists, sponsored by the New York State Office of Mental Health and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, is currently accepting workshop proposals for the 20th Annual NYC Conference for Working Peer Specialists. This year’s theme, “Celebrating our Score: 20 Years of Peer Specialist Professional Development in New York City” commemorates an important milestone and recognizes numerous accomplishments. This conference is for Peer Specialists looking to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities that build on core values of peer support. The event offers opportunities to engage in critical dialogue on career choices, innovative programming, policy, supervision, wellness, and the arts.
Proposals must meet the following criteria to be considered for a 75-minute workshop session:
- Demonstrate how the proposed content relates to the conference theme
- Describe three learning objectives
- Integrate one Core Value of Peer Support (pp. 3-15) and one Guiding Principle of Recovery
- Explain how the content can be applied in practical terms in the peer specialist role
- Submit your proposal here
- Include a current one-page resume that reflects relevant experience
Proposals must be submitted HERE no later than Friday, February 13, 2026. Incomplete proposals will be returned and cause a delay in the review process. Any questions can be directed to Eileen Crosby at eileenc@rightsandrecovery.org.

Information about Continuing Education Units/Hours (CEUs)
New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB) issues continuing education units (CEUs) toward renewal for program content that meets the standard outlined by the above criteria.
