Alliance Week of Action Continues: Help Amplify Our Advocacy Priorities on Social Media!

March 10, 2026 by The Alliance for Rights and Recovery

The Alliance for Rights and Recovery has officially launched our Week of Action, and we need your voice to help ensure that mental health and substance use priorities remain front and center as state budget negotiations continue!

While the New York State Senate and Assembly released their one-house budgets today, there is still significant time to advocate for priorities that were not included in the proposals. One of the most important is our call to carve behavioral health services out of Medicaid Managed Care to eliminate delays and denials, improve access to support, and ensure more resources are directed to services rather than insurance middlemen.

Throughout the week, we are asking advocates, providers, people with lived experience, family members, and community partners to help amplify our priorities online by using the attached Alliance Week of Action Social Media Toolkit. Posting on social media helps keep these issues visible for lawmakers and demonstrates the broad support for strengthening community-based services and the behavioral health workforce.

Our Week of Action will also include in-district meetings with legislators at the end of the week, coordinated by our Regional Coordinators, giving advocates across the state the opportunity to speak directly with lawmakers about what New Yorkers need.

Together, we can build on the momentum from Legislative Day and push for meaningful improvements in the final state budget.

Take action this week:

  • Use the Week of Action Social Media Toolkit to share our priorities online
  • Post throughout the week to amplify our message
  • Participate in in-district meetings with legislators later this week

See the flyer below for more information about the Alliance Week of Action and how you can get involved.

Let’s keep the pressure on and turn advocacy into results!
