TOMORROW! Attend the Webinar: Advocacy and Community Building, April 7, 10-1130am!

April 6, 2026 by The Alliance for Rights and Recovery

Alliance Cultural Competence Committee Webinar Series

Building strong advocacy skills and meaningful community connections is at the heart of recovery, and this upcoming workshop is designed to help you do just that. Join us for an engaging and practical session focused on helping people strengthen their voice while building natural, sustainable support networks that extend beyond formal services.

Whether you are a provider, peer specialist, family member, or community advocate, this workshop will offer real-world tools you can use right away to support empowerment, foster connection, and promote long-term stability. Together, we’ll explore how effective advocacy and community building don’t just improve outcomes, they help people truly thrive.

We’re excited to be joined by expert presenters from I-CONNECT:

  • Luis O. Lopez, MA, MS, Director, I-CONNECT – Institute for Care Management, Outreach, Networking, Engagement, Connecting, and Training, Division of Behavioral Health Services and Policy Research, Center for Practice Innovations at Columbia University
  • Marissa Messiah, LCAT, MA, CPRP, Implementation Specialist & Trainer, Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Behavioral Health Services and Policy Research

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from leaders in the field and strengthen your advocacy and community-building practice.
