The New York State Office of Mental Health recognizes April as Arab American Heritage Month. This is a time to celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Arab Americans across New York State and the nation. We celebrate the diversity within Arab American communities and acknowledge the important role these communities play in shaping a more inclusive and vibrant society.
We recognize that Arab American individuals and families may experience unique barriers to care, including stigma, language access needs, and the impact of discrimination. Addressing these barriers is essential to promoting wellness and equitable outcomes. By fostering understanding, respect, and inclusion, we strengthen our collective ability to support mental health and wellbeing for all.
