Research Opportunity Focused on Community Living Experiences of Black, Latino/a, and Asian Adults with Mental Health Challenges!

May 28, 2026 by The Alliance for Rights and Recovery

Alliance Alert: The Alliance for Rights and Recovery wants to share an important opportunity for people to participate in a research study being conducted by the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion.

This study is focused on the community living and participation experiences of Black, Latino/a, and Asian adults with serious mental health conditions. The research team is especially committed to ensuring that the voices and experiences of people who are too often excluded from research are meaningfully included in conversations that shape services, systems, and public policy.

Researchers are seeking participants who:

• Identify as Black, Latino/a, or Asian

• Have a mental health condition

• Are willing to participate in a one-time Zoom interview about their experiences participating in community life, including work, school, faith communities, recreation, and other activities

Participation includes:

• A one-time Zoom interview (approximately 60–90 minutes)

• Interviews available in English or Spanish

• A $40 Visa gift card for participants

The Alliance strongly believes that lived experience must remain at the center of efforts to improve mental health systems, services, supports, and community inclusion. Research like this can help elevate perspectives that are too often overlooked and help inform more culturally responsive and recovery-oriented approaches moving forward.

If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact:

Please feel free to share this opportunity widely throughout your networks.
