Alliance Alert: This World Mental Health Day, peers, advocates, allies, friends and community members are coming together in the heart of Times Square for an afternoon of movement, music, connection and celebration!
The Alliance for Rights and Recovery is excited to share this opportunity to celebrate the strength and accomplishments of the peer movement and the values that continue to guide our work: mutuality, empowerment, non-judgment, hope and community.
For decades, people with lived experience have shown that recovery grows through connection, belonging, choice and opportunities to support one another. World Mental Health Day is an opportunity not only to recognize how far the peer and recovery movements have come, but also to proudly bring those values into one of the most visible public spaces in the world.
Join peers and allies on Saturday, October 10 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. in Times Square, in front of 1535 Broadway between West 45th and 46th Streets. Wear some teal, bring a sign sharing what mental wellness means to you, dance along, or simply come and enjoy being part of the community!
Everyone is welcome. Come celebrate peer achievements, meet new people, have some fun and show New York City the power of community, connection and recovery! See below for more information.
