Following outgoing NYS Medicaid Director Jason Helgerson’s opening remarks, our Friday program will feature the addition of Greg Allen, MSW, Direction, Division of Program Development and Management, Office of Health Insurance Programs, NYS Department of Health, Bob Myers, Senior Deputy Commissioner & Division Director, Adult Services, State Hospitals and Managed Care, NYS Office of Mental Health and Rob Kent, General Counsel, NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services in a further review of state Medicaid and state budget developments and trends.

Our panel on the Social Determinants of Health will now include Charles King, executive director of Housing Works and co-chair of the state’s workgroup on “Social Determinants of Health and Community Based Organizations. Fellow co-chair Kate Breslin will serve as the panel’s moderator.

They join a power packed program that is led off by the nation’s highest behavioral health official, new HHS Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use Dr. Elinore McCance-Katz and a follow up reaction panel that features some of the nation’s most prominent consumer, family, rights and provider advocates.
