NYAPRS NOTE: This announcement comes from our colleagues at the New York State Psychiatric Institute’s Center of Excellence for Cultural Competence, Columbia University Medical Center. From Hardship to Hope, a peer-led financial wellness program for people experiencing financial hardship and recent thoughts of suicide, is conducting focus groups to get feedback from several stakeholder groups to develop a program that is as feasible, culturally responsive, and effective as possible. The next focus group will be with licensed mental health clinicians who work with people at risk for suicide, from anywhere in the United States. The focus group will be held Thurs July 15th (5:00pm ET) OR Fri July 16th (12pm ET), 2021. The project, funded by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, is an important effort to address financial hardship as a social determinant of mental health.
