New York must increase funding for mental health and substance use services. More than 40% of residents in New York report that COVID resulted in increased mental health issues. Overdose deaths have increased 38%. Overwhelmed community agencies are at the brink. Mental health and substance use recovery providers do not have the staff they need to provide care – 97% of organizations report that it is extremely difficult to recruit and retain staff.
Join the Association for Community Living, ASAP NY, NAMI New York State, NYS Coalition for Children’s Behavioral Health, the New York State Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, Families Together in New York State, MHANYS, COMPA, NYAPRS, the Supportive Housing Network of New York, the NYS Care Management Coalition, and the Coalition for Behavioral Health to rally in support of 5.4% COLA and a $500 million investment in workforce, service, and support in the Executive Budget.
