The 8th Dimension of Wellness of Spirituality, with Peggy Swarbrick & Edi Pasalis of the Kripalu Center at NYAPRS Academy: Register Today!

October 21, 2022 by The Alliance for Rights and Recovery

NYAPRS Note: Over the past 2 decades, our shared work has been focused on addressing the 8 Dimensions of Wellness—emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual—to achieve longevity and improved quality of life. Yet, the last one – the spiritual dimension – has gotten the least amount of attention.

This year’s NYAPRS Rehabilitation and Recovery Academy, entitled Raising the Bar for Recovery, Rehabilitation and Resilience, features a groundbreaking presentation from the developer of the 8 Dimensions Peggy Swarbrick, along with co-presenter Edi Pasalis who will offer an experience of the Kripalu Center’s evidence-based resilience training that has helped to enrich the work of frontline providers and leadership in some of the most critical social institutions in North America. This program has proven to make it easier to pay attention and stay calm, to build positivity, productivity and mental clarity and to improve stress resilience in the moment and over time, while easing symptoms of secondary trauma.

Most important, it offers a set of experiences and skills we can share with the people we support to help them to promote their own health, wellness and recovery.

Please use the links provided in the NYAPRS note to register for the Academy and to reserve your rooms. You can also click on the links in the flyer attached.

NYAPRS strongly encourages attendees to: :

•        Use a face mask when social distancing isn’t possible (face masks will be provided)

•        Take a COVID test within 3 days of your arrival at the Hilton

•        STAY HOME if you aren’t feeling well or develop any cold or flu symptoms

We are not currently requiring proof of vaccination to attend this event.
