The Alliance for Rights and Recovery (formerly NYAPRS) is very pleased to announce that our upcoming 27th Annual Legislative Day will be held on Tuesday February 20th, 2024! This year’s advocacy will be crucial as the state may look to reduce spending ahead of possible budget deficits. If so, this will mean there will be less money to go around as each group fights to have their interests funded.
Join our Alliance members and advocates from across the state in Albany that day to advocate for this year’s priorities, including increased protections of our rights and added funding to support our workforce and services.
As usual, this year’s Legislative Day will have presentations from advocates and state officials in the morning, a roleplay to help prepare you for legislative meetings with your representatives, a rally at the capital, a news conference, and individual meetings with legislators.
The Alliance will be sending out a member survey and hold Regional Forums throughout the state to garner your thoughts and concerns as we prepare our legislative and budget session priorities for the coming session. Keep an eye out for the survey and announcements about forums in your area!
